This was purchased in an effort to encourage my 5 yr. old son's fine motor skills. He loves watercolor painting.... so I thought using the pencils would follow. It didn't. You have to really press hard with the pencils to get enough color for the water brush to work well. I think in time it will resurface again when he has better hand control.

We were so excited about this Christmas gift for our 5year old daughter. All of the other reviews seemed so positive but we were very disappointed in the product. The images could never be made sharp and my daughter was unable to draw while keeping her hand out of the way of the image. The unit did not open far enough to allow for easy use and was stiff and difficult to open. Luckily she received another image projector that sits on a desktop. We have all found that one easy to use, the Trace and Draw Projector by Toys to Grown on.

My son recieved this for his birthday. It is a great idea but... the toys is pretty lame. The bubbles don't really float out they just kind of bubble up at the blower like kitchen sink suds. I think that my son walks too fast with it, if you walk very slowly like a new walker then the bubbles have a chance to blow out, but I don't think the push apparatus is sturdy enough for new walkers. My son can easily pull the handle bar out too. bvg

The idea behind this toy is great but there are two BIG problems with it. The first is that some of the animals are unrecognizable and look like other animals (my eighteen month old keeps calling the yak a "goat"). The more significant issue with the toy is that the animals are all brightly colored with polka dots, stripes, and swirls that are not only distracting, but more importantly, are actually confusing. The bear has stripes, which makes it look exactly like a tiger, which is what my son keeps calling it. And why does a bear need stripes? It doesn't bother me that the representations are not realistic in color, as the first reviewer mentioned; it does bother me that the prints on the animals pretty much make learning much more difficult than it should be for a supposedly educational toy.
